Prof. Ana Claudia Latronico, M.D., Ph.D.
Full Professor of the Department of Clinical Medicine, Discipline of Endocrinology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo, Head of Endocrinology and Metabolism; Coordinator of the Post-Graduation Program in Endocrinology, Principal Researcher of the Laboratory of Hormones and Molecular Genetics, Vice-President of the International Relations Commission of Sao Paulo Medical School, and Full Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Graduation in Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santos, medical resident of the Department of Clinical Medicine / Endocrinology of Hospital das Clínicas of FMUSP (1988-1991), specialist in Endocrinology and Metabology (1991) and Pediatric Endocrinology (2001), PhD in Endocrinology from the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (1995). She had part of her doctorate at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, United States, under the supervision of Professor Dr. George P. Chrousos. Richard E. Weitzman Memorial Award by the American Society of Endocrinology (2003) for the scientific work. She received the CAPES Award and Honorable Mention in 2009 and 2012. Author of full articles (>160) published in international and national journals, highlighting four publications in The New England Journal of Medicine. Main lines of research: clinical and molecular aspects of precocious puberty, hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism and adrenocortical tumors. (Text informed by the author) |
