Dr Daniel J Drucker


Dr. Drucker received his M.D. from the University of Toronto in 1980, and is currently Professor of Medicine. He holds a Canada Research Chair in Regulatory Peptides and the Banting and Best Diabetes Centre-Novo Nordisk Chair in Incretin Biology. His laboratory is based in the Lunenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto and studies the molecular biology and physiology of the glucagon-like peptides.Read more

J. Larry Jameson, MD, PhD, is the Executive Vice President for the Health System and Dean of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Jameson received his medical degree with honors and a doctoral degree in biochemistry from the University of North Carolina. Dr Maria New

Over the past half century, Dr. Maria I. New has earned a reputation as one of the nation's leading pediatric endocrinologists. Her studies of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH)-a deficiency in the adrenal system that causes gender ambiguity in females and precocious sexual development in males-has led to treatments to correct the disorder before the baby is born. Her groundbreaking identification of a new form of hypertension, "apparent mineralcorticoid excess," has resulted in a new area of receptor biology.Read more

Prof Sir Stephen O'Rahilly

Stephen O’Rahilly is Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Medicine at the University of Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Physician at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He led the establishment of the Institute of Metabolic Science, which he now co-directs. He is Scientific Director of the Cambridge NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. He qualified in Medicine from University College Dublin and undertook post-graduate training in London, Oxford and Boston before setting up his laboratory in Cambridge in 1991. Read more.

Dr Bernard Zinman

Bernard Zinman is Director of the Leadership Sinai Centre for Diabetes and holds the Sam and Judy Pencer Family Chair in Diabetes Research at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto, Canada. He is Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Senior Scientist at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr Zinman is involved with diabetes care and research at both national and international levels.
