Dr Martin Bidlingmaier
|Martin Bidlingmaier is an MD. Following graduation from medical school in Munich, Germany, in 1993 he got training in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Clinical Chemistry and Microbiology. Since 2003 Dr. Bidlingmaier is head of the Endocrine Laboratories at the Department of Internal Medicine and leads the Neuroendocrine Research Group.
Research interest include development and validation of laboratory methods for pituitary and adrenal hormones, clinical applications of growth hormone (GH) and its monitoring, clinical relevance and biochemical assessment of GH isoforms and endocrine aspects of doping in sports.
Dr Bidlingmaier is a member of various national and international associations such as the German, the European and the US Endocrine Society. In 2014 he was appointed secretary of the international Growth Hormone Research Society (GRS) and since 2011, he serves as a member of the World Anti-doping Agencies (WADA) Prohibited List Expert Group. He also chairs the Section for Endocrine Laboratory Diagnostics of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (DGKL) and is scientific advisor of the German Reference Institute for Bioanalytics (RfB).
Dr. Bidlingmaier is an editorial board member of several journals including The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, and is author of more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
